Nominate a Candidate for the Class of 2026

Nominations for the National Sailing Hall of Fame Class of 2026 are accepted from October 1 through December 31, 2025 and are only accepted via the form below.
Nominations must be complete when submitted, as additional materials will not be considered.
Nominations submitted anonymously or without nominator contact info will not be considered. Nominations submitted directly to staff, Board Members or Selection Committee members will not be considered.

Aside from demographic information, the nomination form will ask you to answer five questions to support your nomination. In completing the online nomination form, please describe not only the quantitative aspects of a candidate’s achievements, but also qualitative aspects and be sure to highlight inspirational accomplishments. Please provide context for the nominee’s accomplishments to explain why these contributions and achievements have made a significant impact on the sport of sailing. Use specific examples to underscore the nomination. Your completed form is the most important tool that the Selection Committee uses to determine the merits of each nominee for induction into the Hall of Fame … make it irresistible!

The Selection Committee will review all eligible candidate nominations during the designated review period listed below. Nominators may or may not be contacted during this time for questions or clarifications. Candidates selected to be inducted into the 2026 Class will be notified on or before April 2, 2026. All remaining eligible nominees not selected will be carried forward for five years; after year five, candidate names will be dropped but can be resubmitted for future consideration via the same public process.

Nominations are reviewed by a Selection Committee who makes recommendations on a slate of inductees annually to be approved by the Board of Directors.  The committee consists of members representing a broad range of experience in the sailing and marine industry.
